Psychotherapy & Somatic Healing

Trauma-Informed Somatic Therapy

A mind-body approach to support your mental & physical well-being

We all carry a unique narrative that has moulded our inner world and influenced how we navigate and interact with the outer world. It's a personal story that shapes who we are. Often, trauma and pain are also part of that story. These events can profoundly imprint our brain, body, and nervous system, inevitably leading us to find our own strategies to manage the pain, suffering, and accompanying symptoms, which can manifest as mental health challenges or even addiction.

I work from the belief that the symptoms you’re experiencing have an origin story.

Something may have happened to you—whether it was a one-time event or an accumulation of many—that changed how you see yourself or how you exist in the world.

Maybe you no longer feel like who you are. Perhaps a deep loss led to depression, or a traumatic event sparked severe anxiety. Whatever it is, it doesn’t have to be the whole story.

When life-altering experiences happen, subtle or major, they can shift our sense of self, our neurobiology, our nervous systems, and our minds. This is where I come in. I take a holistic approach—bridging the mind and body—to support you in returning to a whole sense of self. Through compassionate care, somatic therapy, and nervous system healing, I’m here to help you reconnect, regulate, and remember who you are beneath the symptoms.

Does your story include any of the following:

  • Chronic stress

  • Difficulty breaking free from addictive behaviours

  • Struggling through life following a distressing and/or traumatic event

  • Anxious or depressed and feeling stuck

  • General overwhelm with life

  • Feeling exhausted

  • Experiencing burnout

  • Chronic pain

  • And more. . .

We are all human, and sometimes, we need support.

I'm a holistic somatic therapist who weaves my lived experience into a holistic, humanistic, and individualized approach to relating and empathizing. A session with me is a corner of the world where I will be honest, compassionate and non-judgemental in supporting you to get back on track. I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your personalized healing journey. My intention is to offer a space that welcomes the messiness of being a human as you navigate your path toward recovery and renewal.

  • “It is hard to imagine the scope of an individual life without envisioning some kind of trauma, and it is hard for most people to know what to do about it.”

Founder of
Wild Journey Recovery

Hi, my name is Theresa, and I am the founder of Wild Journey Recovery. Thank you for being here; I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to search for support, especially if your world feels dark. I have been there myself.

And I came out on the other side.

I am human first.

A Mental Health Therapist second.

My professional philosophy is grounded in the idea that I am not an expert in your life and instead can assist you in reconnecting with a vital part of you that you may have lost touch with.

I strive to support those who have endured any form of trauma which has led to mental health disorders and addiction.

Areas of Specialty

My area of focus is working with adults who are seeking support from addictionanxiety, depression, burnout, chronic pain & fatigue and adults seeking relief from stress & trauma. I offer one-to-one private therapy sessions. At this time I do not work with children or adolescents.

Direct Billing Available

As a Registered Social Worker (#17853) with the Alberta College of Social Workers, my services may be eligible for coverage through your insurance plan. However, it’s important to note the following:

  • Some insurance providers do not cover services provided by social workers. Please note, that it is your responsibility to verify with your plan what coverage is offered for mental health services, specifically a Registered Social Worker. Please note I will not contact your insurance providers on behalf of you to inquire about coverage. Thank you for your understanding.

  • If direct billing is supported by your insurance provider and plan, I will process claims on your behalf. If your insurance covers a percentage of the session, the remaining balance will be billed at the end of the session.

I offer direct billing through Telus e-claims for the following insurance companies:
