Therapeutic Approach

I blend my background in Kinesiology, Yoga, Mindfulness, Meditation, and Clinical Social Work by integrating Sensorimotor Psychotherapy—a form of Somatic-Based therapy—into my practice, fostering a space for comprehensive healing. Drawing upon the insights of the Polyvagal Theory, I explore the profound impact of the Autonomic Nervous System on our overall health and wellness. My philosophy revolves around a holistic recovery approach tailored to your life, ensuring sustainability and well-being.

Together, we will explore the intricate effects of trauma and stress on your brain, body, mind, and nervous system and how it can lead to mental health and/or substance use disorders, collaboratively working to restore a sense of safety within your being. I will provide you with tools and techniques to navigate moments of overwhelm and stress, empowering you to cope in ways that resonate with your unique needs.

At the core of my therapeutic framework lie trauma-informed principles, emphasizing safety, collaboration, voice and choice, mutual respect, transparency, cultural awareness, and trauma sensitivity. Drawing upon over a decade of dedicated learning and training in comprehensive trauma modalities, I am deeply committed to providing you with practical and evidence-based support. Recognizing the profound impact trauma can have on your body, brain, and mind. I hold a strong sense of responsibility to equip you with the tools necessary for healing and growth.

  • A traumatic event can fracture an individual's sense of safety in their body and their world. The first step for healing is to work towards a sense of safety in order to stabilize the individual as we work towards building capacity.

  • Once stabilization and safety are established, we embark on the journey of processing the trauma and pain you have endured. Equipped with training in evidence-based modalities, I facilitate the integration of traumatic memories. As an integrative practitioner, I employ a holistic approach to healing, incorporating Sensorimotor Psychotherapy—a body-based approach (see below)—to release trapped trauma from the body.

Modalities to Assist in Processing Trauma:

    Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.)

A transformative modality that directly engages the subconscious to reprogram how distressing memories are stored in the brain. This evidence-based therapy utilizes eye movements to process the pain associated with traumatic memories, promoting integrated wellness.

A.R.T. sessions are structured as 90-minute sessions to allow ample time for debriefing and processing. For session pricing, please refer to the provided link.

    Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

This body-centered modality integrates the mind and body to process stored trauma that impacts one's life. Informed by attachment theory, neuroscience, and cognitive theories, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy explores how childhood experiences shape core beliefs about the world, influencing our lives profoundly.

  • In this pivotal stage, you have the opportunity to rediscover your authentic self beneath the layers of pain and suffering that you may have carried for an extended period. Collaboratively, we navigate the journey of releasing the past and alleviating your burdens, paving the way for you to reconnect with your true essence and cultivate wholeness in your life
