Addiction Counselling

Whether you are currently struggling with addiction or are living in recovery, I am here to support you on your journey. Addiction impacts the body, mind, heart, spirit, and relationships. This comprehensive perspective will always be at the forefront of our work together.

As someone with an addiction history, I understand some of what you’re going through and I bring my human-ness into my work.

I am direct and honest yet compassionate in my approach. I will never judge you for where you are at and where you intend to go, whether this is a harm reduction approach or abstinence, all of it is welcome here.

I view addictive behaviours—be it substance use, alcohol, sex, gambling, gaming, shopping, eating, and more—as coping strategies that once served you. These behaviours were initially attempts to seek relief or escape from pain, but over time, they transformed into sources of distress.

My goal is to help you not only change these behaviours but also to understand the origin story. Together, we will explore the root causes of your addiction and, more importantly, how to take back your life. I incorporate Somatic Therapy into my addiction counselling sessions to address how addiction and substance use manifest in the body to break these physical patterns.

I will guide you through a holistic and systemic healing and recovery process. My hope is in working together you will:

  • find relief without resorting to substance use or addictive behaviours

  • build emotional regulation, nervous system capacity and healthy coping mechanisms to handle life’s ultimate stressors

  • gain awareness of how addiction affects major areas of your life

  • learn how recovery can positively ripple outwards

  • learn how to navigate urges and cravings

  • find ways to re-connect to self & what you value in life

Having lived alongside a family member entrenched in addiction, I deeply understand its impact on loved ones. I am here to support not only those struggling with addiction but also their families, providing relief, healing, and guidance in navigating the often overwhelming journey.

Please know you are not alone and are welcome here.
