Substance Use & Behavioral Addiction concerns

Adult Addiction Services (AHS)

Short-term outpatient counselling for substance use and addictive behaviours and support for their loved ones. Groups programming. Call #403-367-5000 for an intake. Walk-in intakes daily at 12:45pm.

Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) (AHS)

Provides comprehensive physician and addiction cousnelor led programs managing all substance and behavioural addiction concerns. Combination of medical and psychosocial treatment.

Opioid Dependency Program

The ODP provides methadone and suboxone maintenance treatment for people dependent on opioids. Withdrawal management to help people manage symptoms when they stop using opioids.  Located at the Sheldon Chumir Centre, Call #403-297-5118

Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP)

Connects individuals to opioid agonist therapy treatment via videoconferencing with a physician (i.e. Telehealth).  VODP offers same-day treatment starts and transitions to other Opioid Agonist Therapies. Call: 1-844-383-7688 https://vodp.ca/

SMART Recovery

Smart Management and Recovery Training (SMART) is a global community of mutual support groups. During meetings, participants support one another in resolving problems with any addiction (to substance or process/behavioural addiction). www.smartrecovery.org

Recovery Dharma YYC

Buddhist centered recovery program that uses practices of meditation, self-inquiry, wisdom, compassion and community as tools for recovery and healing. www.recoverydharma.org 

In The Rooms

A free online recovery tool that offers 130 weekly online meetings for those recovering from addiction and related concerns. Multiple pathways to recovery are welcomed. All that is required is an internet connection, device and the willingness to show up as you are. www.intherooms.com

Digital Overdose Response System (DORS) App

DORS is a nation wide system app that will support someone using opioids or any substance alone to prevent death by overdose. The app will summon emergency response to an individuals location if they become unresponsive to prevent death by overdose.

National Overdose Response Service (NORS)

NORS is an overdose prevention hotline for Canadians providing loving, confidential, non-judgmental support for you, whenever and wherever you use substances. Call 1-888-688-NORS (6677).

Take 10 App

Take 10 App is a way to support people seeking a break from gambling. It has recommendations for your break and helps you limit the amount of time and money you spend gambling.

GameSense (from AGLC)

Self-exclusion program supports people to take the first step in controlling gambling behavior. More information can be found here.
